SOUTH ALBANY HOLIDAY STUDENT CONGRESS

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 11, 2018

You are invitited to participate in the South Albany High School Holiday Student Congress.  Registration will occur from 3:30-3:50pm with the first session beginning at 4:00pm.  There will be a dinner break from 6:00-6:30pm.

The first session will run from 4:00-6:00.  At the conclusion of that session, judges from all houses will nominate the top outstanding speakers.  The top nominees will form a Super Congress that will compete from 6:00-8:00. Students who are not nominated in the preliminary session will continue to compete in their original houses.  There may be some adjustments for houses and Super Congress based on the number of entries.

We will try to seat Novice and Open chambers but entry numbers might result in a collapsed event.

Practical Congress items (notepads, pens, legal pads) will be given as awards.  Holiday items will also be shared with the legislative body.

Attending schools will be asked to bring a gift exchange item to be shared with another school.  This may be useful Congressional items or something which could be shared with the entire group of students and coaches.

Registration will close Friday, December 7th.  Any changes after that should be emailed to ohsslca@speechoregon.org.

Cost will be $5 per competitor.  One judge covers up to 15 entries.  A judge must be provided for your team.
